The Yangtze Valley Hydro-electric Scheme is an abnormally tremendous engineering project in the world. The trestle bridges required for concreting the dam only are of abnormal size for instauce. The main trestle bridge has to carry five lines of standard gauge railway track and two tracks for loading about 30 huge concreting cranes of about 700 tons in dead weight each. The bridge required for the first stage of work is about 90m.in height,and later on the whole flooring system of the bridge has to be lifted twice, each time being lifted 35m. in height. In addition, the bridge must be constructed and lifted with in the given comparatively short period of time. In this paper, some proposals for the preliminary design of the trestle bridge are presented. In the design, the super-structure contains a series of welded steel plate girders. The main girders are 24 meters span all-welded steel Plate girders of the standard railway bridge design. Two alternative designs of the trestles are proposed for comparison,one being composed of reinforced concrete tube posts of 2.0 meter diameter,similar to those used in the sub-structure of the famous Yangtze Bridge in Wuhan, the other being of steel structure. Necessary figures of the results of the design are given including the quantity of materials, the time and procedure of erection,etc. On account of economyof steel the design of R.C. trestles is suggested to be adapted in comparison with the steel structure.

用电阻丝应变片电测应力的技术近年来得到很快的发展,对于许多应力测定问题都得到广泛的应用,但是仍有一些实际应用中的问题还没有得到完善的解决。考虑到南京长江大桥管柱应力测定的要求,我们必须解决在混凝土内装置电阻丝应变片能够抵抗潮气和为时36~48小时的80℃蒸汽养护的侵蚀,而且能够经常在深水中正常使用,期限长达三、四个月之久等等问题。为此,我们对各种不同方法曾在郑州黄河桥工地和铁道科学研究院实验室内进行了试验研究。作者所提出的某些方法在试验中证明得到成功。本文就是我们所进行的这些工作的报道。

Anchor and shotcrete support as permanent lining for railway tunnel construction has been used in our country for more than a decade, and has well withstood the effort of long-term ground pressure, train vibration and temperature changes under various geological conditions. Anchor and shotcrete support as permanent lining for railway tunnel construction has been used in our country for more than a decade, and has well withstood the effort of long-term ground pressure, train vibration and temperature changes under various geological conditions. Up to now, more than 95.6% of the total sections constructed are satisfactory and no serious defects have been observed. Many site tests have also proved that the strength of anchor and shotcrete support is much greater than that of conventional in situ concrete lining.This article is devoted to the conditions of stability of the surrounding rock and the loading principle of the anchor and shotcrete support and corresponding designing procedure from the stand point of the structure and the variation of mechanical state of the rock mass.The introduction of anchor and shotcrete support has solved practically the problem of handling underground engineering support problems by considering rock and support as a structural entity. Some of its work principles will certainly bear farreaching effects in guiding the renovation of existing supporting structures and the development of new types of support as well.

喷锚支护作为永久衬砌在我国铁路隧道中的应用已有十几年的历史。在不同地质条件下,经受长时期地层压力、列车振动、气温变化影响的考验。到目前为止95.6%以上的区段是良好的,未发生过任何严重病害。通过多次现场试验也证明:喷锚支护比现浇混凝土的支护能力在相同条件下要大得多。 文章从岩体结构和岩体力学形态变化过程,论述围岩稳定条件和喷锚支护受力机理,以及相应的设计程序。 最后提出喷锚支护的出现,从实践上解决将围岩与支护作为统一结构体的概念去处理地下工程的支护问题。它的某些作用原理必将在指导今后改善已有支护结构形式及发展新型支护的过程中,发挥深远的影响。

In this paper we described and discussed the experimental results of two new types of concrete armor units which were created and studied by us to meet the practical needs of harbor construction and shore protection engineering in our country. In this paper we described and discussed the experimental results of two new types of concrete armor units which were created and studied by us to meet the practical needs of harbor construction and shore protection engineering in our country. One of them, the wing type of armor, is principally applicable to breakwaters, and the other, the frog type of armor, to shore protection engineering. Model exper- iments indicated that the wave-resisting characteristics of both types of armor are superior, their technical indices excellent. They can be recommended to be used in practical engineering. In this report we used graphs, tables and formulas to describe and explain the shape, dimensions and characteristic indices of these types of armor units and to calculate wave run-up on sloping structures pro- tected by them. In order to facilitate engineering application, design curves for each of them had also been drawn. Wing type of armor units had already been employedi n the break- water design plan of a certain foreign harbor, which will soon be con- structed through joint effort and mutual cooperation.

本文介绍了研究创制的两种混凝土护面新块体。其中“翼型”块体主要适用于防波堤,“蛙式”块体主要适用于防浪护岸工程。试验表明,块体的抗浪性能优越,技术指标先进,可供实际工程应用。本文兼用图表及公式对块体的形态、特征指标以及波浪在堤坡上的爬高,逐项加以说明,并绘制了块体设计曲线,便于工程实用。“翼型”块体已在我国援外工程某港防波堤的设计方案中实际采用。
