The quick setting and rapid hardening sand-cast cement is a new type of excellentinorganic binder for foundry molding sand. It is characterized by the quick setting andrapid hardening under normal temperature, the low remaining compressive strength underhigh temperature and capable of regulating setting time by retarders in certain limits. Ithas been produced near ten thousand tons and it is devised to put on extensive use foriron foundries in our country. In the course of investigation of the clinker mineral components and hydration produ-cts, the XRD analysis, microscope examination, weight loss by heating and chemical an-alysis have been used. It is considered that their properties depend mainly on the intro-duction of the new mineral component C_(11)A_7·CaF_2 into portland cement clinker, the newcomponent reacting with anhydrite produces calcium sulfoaluminate hydrates with a largequantity of crystalline water rapidly (mainly high sulfate form and minorly low sulfateform) under the condition of suitable basicity from cement itself.

In the preparation of quick setting and rapid hardening sand-cast cement, five differentforms of calcium sulfate i.e., natural anhydrite, dihydrate, hemihydrate and anhydrites burned at 600℃ and 1000℃ respectively, have been added to clinker with alite and flouroalu-minate as its main constituents (C_3S 53%, C_(11)A_7·CaF_2 26%). The properties of the ce-ments were investigated under 6~8℃, 20~22℃, and 28~30℃ respectively. The solubility andthe rate of solution of different forms of calcium salfate as well as characteristics of heatof hydration were studied. DTA, XRD, TEM, SEM as well as chemical analysis were em-ployed in the identification of the hydrates. Besults show that cements made from natural anhydrite and that burned at 1000℃ havehigher early strengths than cements made from the three other forms of calcium sulfate.This was made clear by the fact that the solubility and the rate of solution of the calciumsulfate have pronounced effect on the hydration of calcium fluoroaluminate. The lower rateof solution but the slightly higher solubility of the two anhydrites offer good properties tothe cements made from them. In the case with these two anhydrites, under normal tem-peratures, ettringite will not form rapidly enough on the surface of the calcium fluoro-aluminate so as to prevent its hydration, and under low temperatures, the sulfate willnot enter into liquid to the amount to affect adversely the hydration process appreciably.This explains the reason why these cements have higher early strengths and the strengthsdevelop further after set. In China, the use of natural anhydrite is preferred to burned anhydrite because of itsabundunt deposit. The production with natural anhydrite has its additional advantage inlower cost and simpler production process which should have its universal application inthe manufacture of other types of cements containing calcium fluoroaluminate.

本文研究了在含氟铝酸钙(C_3S53%、C_(11)A_7·CaF_226%)的双快型砂水泥熟料中,掺入五种不同形态的石膏;硬石膏、二水石膏、半水石膏、600℃和1000℃煅烧的无水石膏,在不同温度下(6~8℃、20~22℃、28~30℃)的水化过程。通过对水泥材性、石膏溶解速度和溶解度、水化放热特性、水化产物的差热、X射线和电显分析等各方面的试验和观察,可以看出,不同石膏的溶解速度和溶解度明显地影响C_(11)A_7·CaF_2的水化。1000℃煅烧石膏和硬石膏所以具有较好的性能正是由于溶解速度小而溶解度适宜,常温下不会迅速生成复盖于氟铝酸钙表面的三硫型水化硫铝酸钙而妨碍水化的继续进行;低温时亦不致有较多的SO_3进入液相而明显地影响水化。所以1000℃煅烧的无水石膏和硬石膏可使水泥有较好的早强性能,并能在终凝后很好地发挥强度。为简化生产、节约热能,我们采用硬石膏是合理的。这个结论对含有不同量的氟铝酸钙制成的水泥亦具有一定的普遍性。
