An instrument of generating large-area intense Pulse electron beam has been designed and is reported in this paper. A cold cathod is used in the system, the main performance parameters are:the beam cross area of 500 cm2, the beam energy of 110 - 230 kev, the beam current of 6 -13 KA, current density of about 0.5 -3A/cm2 and the Pulse width of about 0.7 - 1.5 us.
SCR thyristprs of the switch modulator are applied to an arc P. S. which is capable of delivering 1 to 5 kA pulses current at 20 to 150 V and pulse length of 50 ms from a twelve pulse rectifier of the P. S. system to supply energy to the arc chamber load with the duty cycle of 0.1%.
