    The objectives of this paper are to study the genetic variability of seventeen quantitative characters including growth period, yield and mechanical harvesting of local soybean varieties in lower Yangtze and Huai valleys. The estimates of genotypic variance, genotypic coefficient of variation, heritability and expected genetic advance of these characters were calculated, in which the potentials and expected effects of selection from the natural population of these varieties were clearly indicated....

From this study it is shown that the genetic resources of quantitative characters of these local varieties of soybeans are very abundant, that the simple selection is still one of the important methods in soybean breeding, and that to study the local varieties with the methods of quantitative genetics is of great importance both in theory and practice in soybean breeding.

In order to study and exploit its natural genetic resource, some selected samples from different provenances (within its natural range), stands (in Fujian Province) and families (in a stand covering 75 mu) were compared so that the most economical breeding program could be found out. The results indicated that for all the measured phenological and morphological characteristics, provenance resu^ Ited in the highest degree of variation. Selecting suitable southern provenance plants for reproduction would obtain greater increment in the seedling stage. But they are by nature some populations in response to continuous ecological factors. Variations of plants among different stands showed a random pattern which indicated that the desirable stand would be within a short distance. As compared with plants from different stands, plants from different half-sib families could give greater variations in height growth, though their ecological characteristics were rather consistent. This suggests that when stands are to be selected, plus trees should also be simultaneously selected in order to establish clone seed orchards after progeny testing. Greater increment would be obtained from selections between half-sib families in addition to selections between different stands than from the latter alone. Variations among plants from stands at different elevation could provide more benefit than from among populations in the vicinity,

    马尾松是福建省最重要的用材树种。本文对马尾松的群体和个体的遗传变异进行分析研究, 目的在于发掘当地树种的遗传资源,科学地制定马尾松的遗传改良程序,以及为当前林业生产中种子调拨和建立采种基地等工作提供依据。 1979年,共采集种子样本73份,包括全国不同产地、省内不同林分,同一林分不同家系和不同海拔高度的林分。1980年,于洋口,官庄林场作苗期比较。观测项目有种子大小,重量、发育程度、苗木高度,地径。封顶率和其它性状。根据试验结果,本文对各种变异类型做出了评价,并对福建省内马尾松的遗传改良程序提出初步意见。

    Genetic variabilities of 10 different quantitative characters, including dry rubber yield, flow physiology and vegetative growth, have been studied on two random samples from average and high yielding rubber clone populations of South-east Asia. The degrees of variability of the above-mentioned quantitative characters, and both the potential and expected effects from selections within average and high yielding clone populations have been shown clearly on the basis of the estimates of mean varietal variation...

    Genetic variabilities of 10 different quantitative characters, including dry rubber yield, flow physiology and vegetative growth, have been studied on two random samples from average and high yielding rubber clone populations of South-east Asia. The degrees of variability of the above-mentioned quantitative characters, and both the potential and expected effects from selections within average and high yielding clone populations have been shown clearly on the basis of the estimates of mean varietal variation range, F-value of variance, genotypic coefficient of variation,range of genotypes(95%), broad sense heritability, genetic correlation, expected genetic advance and correlated genetic advance of these characters. In addition, a preliminary screening of characters correlated with higher rubber yield from selections has also been made. The study has proved that the genetic resources of rubber clone populations in Southeast Asia are not abundant, and the degrees of variability of these characters of high yielding clone population are even than those of average clones, thus the study of genetic resources of rubber by means of quantitative genetics is of great importance in rubber breeding. Finally a brief discussion is made on the validity of genetic variance analysis, screening of correlated characters and reinvigouration of genetic resources.

    本文研究了巴西橡胶东南亚无性系一般群体与高产群体两个随机样本的干胶产量、排胶生理和营养生长等方面10个数量性状的遗传变异。根据其品种平均变幅、方差的F值、遗传型变异系数、(95%)遗传型的范围、广义遗传力、遗传相关、预期遗传进度和相关遗传进度等遗传参数,揭示了这些数量性状的变异度以及从一般群体与高产群体中进行选择的潜能和预期效果。并对有利于产胶量选择的相关性状进行了初步筛选。本研究证明了东南亚巴西橡胶无性系的遗传资源不是很丰富的。高产群体这些性状的变异度比一般群体还要贫乏。肯定了采用数量遗传学方法研究橡胶的遗传资源对橡胶育种工作是极为重要的。本文最后对遗传方差的估计正确与否、相关性状的筛选和遗传资源的复壮作了简要的讨论。
