There is significant correlation between bone resorption and bone formation.

The deposition of calcium in the upper, middle and lower thirds of the left femur and upper third of the right femur and in the upper segments of right and left tibiae decreased slowly. However the bone turnover of the lower third of right femur increasid. This showed that all segments except the fractured middle third of femur mobilized more calcium to meet the increased demands of calcium and fracture repair.
