This paper, based on current studies on Relevance Theory and its relations with translation, proves its great force of explanation for process and criterion of translation as well as its limitations on explanation for literary translation. Through positive and negative demonstration, we can have some objective comments on Relevance Theory.

In the two open test of the system in "English 900" and eleven famous plays, the recall rate and accuracy rate are respectively 88.7%, 86.7% and 83.3%, 83.7%. These results imply that it is effective to cope with translation selection of extended functional relations using match of context pattern.
Based on the qualitative and quantitative analysis of these basic relations, the author concludes that reading ought to be given first priority in Chinese learning, and in each period, 15%-20% of the time should be spent on reviewing and 80%-85% of the time on new learning.
By studying comprehensively the distribution, formal characteristics and function of the diminutive of YBTH, the dissertation shows the basic features of the diminutive of YBTH and analyses objectively internal relations and development skeleton of the three kinds of diminutives in YBTH.
