Methods The testing and evaluation on concentrations of the particulates with the diameters of 0.3,0.5,1.0,2.0,3.0,5.0 μm in indoor air of the cosmetic workshops was carried out among 11 cosmetic manufactures with air filtering and purifying system(air-purified factory) and 13 cosmetic manufactures without air filtering and purifying system but with mechanical ventilation (air-unpurified factory).
The results indicated that the nature ventilation rate was less than 0.2 times per hour as the result of airtight, while the ventilation rate by the mechanical supply and exhaust system was more than 1 time per hour.
At last, 4 parameters were introduced for evaluation of residential ventilation systems which were thermal comfort, noise, ventilation rate and life cycle costing.
According to this method,the pressure and rate of smoke flow of everyroom and passageway in different times can be worked out simultaneously,The method is successfulin calculating ventilation and smoke flow.
Results Ventilation rates for three locations were 1 345.4 ,870.8 and 890.2 m 3/min respectively,and the average ventilation rate for the whole workshop was 1 035.47 m 3/min .

In this paper a field model for smoke movement is described. Predicted results are compared with the Austrian Zwenberg tunnel test data. With this model, some examples of smoke movement in subway are illustrated, and conclusion is given that the longitudinal ventilation rate should be about 2m/s to prevent hot air from spreading upstream.
