With the program NETOMAC provided by Siemens Company this paper describes a joint study on AC-system equivalents in Central China and Sichuan province for the first HVDC project of Three Gorges Power Station. Taking the equivalent for fundamental frequency overvoltage study as an instance, this paper presents a method in dynamic equivalent for large power system.
