Limestone is burnt by two methods as before and the structure of the product CaO is detected. It is found that the structure of CaO pr- oducing by rapid burning method as comparied with that of the ordinary method is much loose with a greater lattice constant, much crystal defects and smaller particle sizes. Thus CaO appears more active and it ca- uses a lower activation energy of clinker formation by rapid burning method,
