The paper introduces the definition of equivalent circle zone and studies on the effect of different overburden depth and different jack thrust forces on the deformation of the ground surface.The paper also describes the modeling method and relevant know-how in the calculation of the ground surface settlement of shield tunnels by using ANSYS.Finally the paper makes a comparison between the calculation results and the data measured at similar job site.
