    This article describes the automatic block system(ABS)——Polar-Frenquency Pulse ABS, which use the combination of two different polarities and two different frequencies of pulses to transmit the informations through the track circuit and to operate the wayside signals and cab signals in order to improve the railway carrying capacity for ensuring the train operations in safety.

    The information in this article covers the investigation, fabrication and testing of an inertial profilometer system, developed for use on the railway track test car. The principle of inertia method and its application to the profilometer are demonstrated and described, including the details of the mechanical configuration and the electronic implementation used. The profilometer is used to measure track profile at speed, particularly at high speed.Both laboratory and field tests were conducted to evaluate the...

The profilometer is used to measure track profile at speed, particularly at high speed.Both laboratory and field tests were conducted to evaluate the performance of the profilometer system. Comparisons are made between the profilometer measurements at speed and the level instrument measurements under the wheel loading of the track test car in the same section, and between the successive measurements of profilometer at fast passenger train speed in the same trunk line section. The results are satisfactory. At 160km/hr. test run, data are also normally recorded.
