The present article has been an analysis of the current situation in the development of volleyball in all the middle schools in Shanghai from the viewpoint of one dividing into two, after an investigation in the middle schools and other departments concerned, and pointed out the reasons for unpopularization of volleyball and the problems existing in organization of volleyball teams and training of the players in the middle schools. Based on the theory that practice is the only criterion for testing truth, the author has put porward suggestions on the correct way and method to raise the level of volleyball in the middle schools from a dialectical materialist viewpoint.
