This paper describes the study of the structure of the intercalation compound of Graphite-SbCl5 (SbCl5 -GIC) through the transmission electron microscope. The stacking sequence of the layer planes along the C axis was found from the relation between the intensity of the spots of the electron diffraction pattern and the stage of SbCl5-GIC. The electron diffraction patterns shown SbCl5 are intercalated in the spaces of the carbon atom layer planes in the form of the hexagonalα, β and the epitaxialγ- phases,...

This paper describes the study of the structure of the intercalation compound of Graphite-SbCl5 (SbCl5 -GIC) through the transmission electron microscope. The stacking sequence of the layer planes along the C axis was found from the relation between the intensity of the spots of the electron diffraction pattern and the stage of SbCl5-GIC. The electron diffraction patterns shown SbCl5 are intercalated in the spaces of the carbon atom layer planes in the form of the hexagonalα, β and the epitaxialγ- phases, in which aα = aβ = 15. 5A,aγ = 17. 22A. Therefore the direction of aγagrees with that of ac, while aa and aβ rotated by ±16°around ac. The electron diffraction patterns also show the quantity of theγ-phase contained in first stage of SbCl5-GIC is the highest, but in the second and third stages are almost equal, therefore the value of the conductivity of the second stage of SbCl5-GIC is the largest. The γ-phase is an important factor effecting on the increase of the conductivity of SbCl5-GIC. The more the quantity of the r-phases, the lower becomes its conductivity.

The bromine-graphite fiber of low electrical resistivity was prepared. The factors which influence the properties of the bromine-graphlte fiber, such as, the precusor materials of the carbon fiber, the heat treatment temperature(HTT) of carbon fiber,the kinds of catalysts in the graphitization of carbon fiber and the time,temperature and methods of bromine intercalation were investigated.It was proved that the electrical resistivity of the carbon fiber can be reduced to 1/5—1/10 of its original value by high temperature treatment and the same effect can be reached by using catalysts at lower temperature(a decrease about 400℃).The electrical resistivity of the graphite fiber can also be reduced to 1/2—1/5 of its original value after bromine was intercalated into the fiber, The reasons for the decrease of the electrical resistivity and the change of the mechanical properties of the carbon fiber are also discussed.

本文对制备低电阻率插溴石墨纤维时,炭源、热处理温度、催化剂的使用以及插溴时间、温度和方式等影响插溴石墨纤维电阻率的因素进行了初步探讨。实验结果表明,将炭纤维进行高温热处理,可使电阻率下降至原来的1/5~1/10;催化高温热处理可以降低热处理温度400℃左右而达到同样的效果;插溴可以使石墨纤维的电阻率下降至原来的1/2~1/5。本文还对炭纤维电阻率下降和力学性能变化的原因进行了讨论。
