The effects of the structure of liquid phase on material-transfer during sintering of cera-mic materials have been analysed in the light of theory of molten salt solution. Apart fromits viscosity and wettabilitly, the structure of liquid phase is one of the important factorswhich affects sintering. During sintering the solution-precipitation process may proceed fa-vorablty if the liquid phase existing is approximate to an ideal molten salt solution. The effects of the structure of liquid phase on material-transfer during sintering of cera-mic materials have been analysed in the light of theory of molten salt solution. Apart fromits viscosity and wettabilitly, the structure of liquid phase is one of the important factorswhich affects sintering. During sintering the solution-precipitation process may proceed fa-vorablty if the liquid phase existing is approximate to an ideal molten salt solution. Theenergetic parameter of solution, as an approximate lunction of electrostatic energy of mix-ing of molten salts, may serve as an approximate criterion for estimating the effects ofstructure of liquid phase on sintering of ceramic materials. The transfer of materialthrough solution may proceed only when f(r) approaches zero.

PbO loss due to volatilization and reductive precipitation in glassmelting process has been discussed. Home-made lead silicate was introduced as raw material and the PbO loss and lead contamination were reduced considerably in melting experiments.
