Based on the relation between the volume decrease under drained cyclic simple shear and the pore-pressure increase under undrained cyclic simple shear, this paper predicted the liquefaction shear stress by using the results of drained tests instead of those of undrained tests. Based on the relation between the volume decrease under drained cyclic simple shear and the pore-pressure increase under undrained cyclic simple shear, this paper predicted the liquefaction shear stress by using the results of drained tests instead of those of undrained tests. In order to measure the volume change during drained cyclic shear, a capacitive type volume change transducer was used. As for the determination of shear modulus and damping ratio, a high sensitive differential inductance displacement transducer was employed so that the measured shear strain exceeded the range from 10-4 to 10-2. However, when the simple shear devices are applied in experiments with small strain, one should not only increase the measurment accuracy, but also increase the stiffness of the devices to eliminate the effects of its deformation. In this paper the shear modulus and damping ratio between wide range of shear strain were obtained only by means of simple shear test without using resonant column apparatus.

本文根据排水周期单剪时试样体积的减小与不排水周期单剪时孔隙压力的增大二者之间的关系,用排水试验的结果推算液化剪应力,代替不排水试验,避免了迭环式单剪仪不适于做不排水试验的缺点.为量测排水周期剪切时试样体积的变化,使用了电容式体变传感器.为确定剪切模量与阻尼比,采用了差动电感式位移传感器量测位移,使测得的剪应变达到10~(-6),超过过去单剪仪的使用范围10~(-4)~10~(-2).单剪仪用于小应变试验不仅需提高量测的精度,还需加大仪器的刚度,防止仪器自身变形的影响.本文试验所用的仪器和量测装置,可以得到较广剪应变范围的剪切模量与阻尼比,不需再补充其它试验.
