Through the analysis of the stored-grain pest surveys conducted in grain departments of the country, we have come to realize the following problems which should have deserved our great attention and undergone close study: the staggering amount of grain losses caused by tiny storage pests; their large varieties and wide distribution; the ever-increasing in the number of pest species confirmed during each survey: the mistakes made before in distinguishing species affinis and corrected now by means of modern comparative morphological anatomy; the discovery of quite a lot of new pest species; the emphasis on adult pests rather than larvas, still less on the study of biological traits of their species and the last one, the social environment for the infestation of storage pests.

Significant differences in radiosensitivity were found among the varieties used in present experiment. The varietal radiosensitivity of Trliticum aestivum L. manifested a continuous variation, which accorts approximately with the normal distribution, from the sensitive to the resistant to 60CoY rays. 49 varieties utilized could be divided into five groups with different radiosensitivity to 60CoY rays:higher resistent, resistant, intermediat respose, sensitive and higher sensitive. It was found that most of the mutant varieties improved by irradiation were more resistant to Y rays than the local varieties which were more resistant than recombination varieties bred by crossbreeding, that is, radiation-induced mutant varie-tiesvarietiesvarieties in radiosensitivity. It suggested that the self-repairability of DNA damage was the main factor governing the varietal radiosensitivity .Genetical effects of 9 varieties with different sensitivity were compared in M2 generation. The results showed that mutation frequencies, mutation spectra and variebilities of the quantative traits varied with varieties.Higher mutation frequencies,wider mutation spectra and greater variabilities were observed in the sensitive varieties than in the resistant ones, and it suggested that there is greater potential for selecting mutants in M2 generation of more sensitive varieties.

利用~(60)COγ射线辐照含水量13%的小麦休眠种子,从形态学、细胞学和生理生化三方面综合研究了普通小麦品种辐射敏感性。结果表明,普通小麦品种间辐射敏感性存在显著差异,并呈正态分布。对供试的49个品种进行模糊聚类分析,普通小麦品种辐射敏感性分为极敏感 型、敏感型、中间型、迟钝型和极迟钝型五类。不同遗传背景品种的辐射敏感性强弱具有以下关系:重组品种>地方品种>辐射实变品种。植物品种辐射敏感性强弱取决于DNA损伤的自身修复能力。M_1辐射敏感性不同的品种,其M_2的诱变效果也不同。在7.74C/kg(30kR)以下的剂量范围内。对辐射敏感的品种实变频率高,数量性状的变异程度大。因此,在辐射育种上,选择敏感的品种作辐照材料可收到较好的效果。
