In this paper the nonlinear self-consistent theory of the electron cyclotron maser instability is studied. The configuration used to study the maser instability consists of relativistic electrons gyrating about and drifting along a uniform magnetic field within a cylindrical waveguide. Since relativistic effect excites the transverse electric mode in the waveguide, the coupled nonlinear equations have been derived from the beam frame. Since relativistic effect excites the transverse electric mode in the waveguide, the coupled nonlinear equations have been derived from the beam frame. The theory describes the temporal nonlinear evolution of the field amplitude and frequency shift of a single wave mode. the nonlinear wave dynamics are self-consistently determined from the nonlinear particle orbits through the force and wave equations. There are two mechanisms for the saturation of the wave power, i. c. depletion of the free energy and phase trapping. Competition between the two saturation mechanisms leads to a peak in the energy conversion efficiency as a function of beam energy.Numerical results show that energy conversion efficiency from the electrons to the wave can be over 60 percent in the beam frame.

The photoacoustic spectroscopy and the photovoltaic conversion efficiency of Si-solar cell were measured with photoacoustic method.The load dependence of photoacoustic signal and of photoelectric energy conversion were recorded simultaneously.Resistance value of optimum load for photoelectric energy conversion is 64Ω.The results show that the photoacoustic method is an new technology in studying photoelectric material.

This paper reports the new results in improving energy conversion efficiencies of a-Si:Hsolar cells. Owing to introducing an ultrathin contact layer heavily doped between the SnO_2and the p a SiCx:H layers, and utilizing an MIS tunnelling rear contact instead of an MScontact, the conversion efficiency of a-Si:H single junction solar cells has been increased to11.19% on an area of 1.0cm~2 (AM1.5, 100mW/cm~2).
