The article introduced the influence of contact time on the effect in handling the waste water of chromate,treatment. The results showed when contact time to 15 --20 minutes,the water quatily of out-water reachednational emission standard. It also indicated that after treating the activated iron filing,the contact time was obviouslyshortened,but the mechanism remains to be solved.
