This paper describes an automatic step and repeat reduction camera with precision positioning by applying the theory of light interference, using a He-Ne gas laser for light source. The camera consists of a laser interferometer system, a set of precision mechanism, a numerical control device and a laser frequency stabilizer. This paper describes an automatic step and repeat reduction camera with precision positioning by applying the theory of light interference, using a He-Ne gas laser for light source. The camera consists of a laser interferometer system, a set of precision mechanism, a numerical control device and a laser frequency stabilizer. The displacement of the working table is measured and located by the laser interferomenter system, so the accuracy of the camera in repeat positioning is better than micron. In this paper, the properties in the design of the laser interferometer system and the problems concerned with application of laser to precision positioning of the working table in the camera are given with some emphasis. At the sametime, it affords major technical parameters and experimental data. At the end of this paper, the analysis of accuracy and the result of calibration of the cameras show that actual accuracy of the cameras is up to about e0.75 micron. Cameras of this type are now used in industrial practice.

An experimental arrangement of the infrared television microscope is described. The principles and characteristics of the equipment and its application in examining semiconductor materials and devices are discussed, with special regard to the detection of pin holes and irregular diffusions in integrated circuits or targets of tivicon (Si vidicon).

The concentric spherical electro-magnetic focusing system as an imaging system was described at the Second Symposium on photo-electronic Image Devices, but was not fully discussed; up to now the analytic solution for the electron trajectories in this system hasn't been given. In this paper, the concentric spherical electro-magnetic focusing system together with three other systems, namely, the electro-magnetic focusing system using parallel homogeneous magnetic and electric fields, the concentric spherical electrostatic focusing system and proximity focusing system are studied, the analytic solution for "paraxial" trajectories, the focusing condition and the spherochromatic aberrations are given, and the concentric spherical electrostatic focusing system with spherical mesh and the electro-magnetic focusing system with planar mesh using parallel homogeneous magnetic and electric fields are also discussed.
