Although some success has been attained in this directions, yet the problem is still far from being solved. The one of the chief difficulties is how to increase the water-repelling property of the bamboo. In this experiment, we use the double alternate coat of 30% rosin dissolved in alcohol followed by a coat of asphalt dissolved in petroleum containing 10% PbO. The results obtained are presented in this article.

In the engineering constructions the orthotropic continuous rectangular plates are often used. For instance, in a reinforced concrete building, the floor system consists of continuous rectangular plates supported by cross beams, and in ship building we often use the continuous rectangular glued plates. In analysing the stresses, theory which is derived for continuous isotropic rectangular plates is adopted. The results obtained is evidently different from the actual state, because the distribution of stress is much effected when the plate has different elastic properties in different directions, In this paper is presented a method of calculation, which takes into account the orthotropic properties of the materials. The results thus obtained will certainly much better approximate to the reality than when the classical theory is used. This paper contains the following items: 1. The bending of orthotropic continuous rectangular plates under loads normal to the plate. 2. The bending of orthotropic continuous rectangular plates under loads normal to the plate together with tensile forces acting in the plane of the plate. 3. The bending of orthotropic continuous rectangular plates under loads normal to the plate together with compressive forces acting in the plane of the plate. 4. The bending of orthotropic continuous rectangular plates. on elastic foundation. 5. The elastic stability of orthotropic continuous rectangular plates 6. The vibration of orthotropic continuous rectangular plates. For the first four items, we get a governing equation which connects the bending moments above three successive supports. For example, for the third case, we have: Several mumerical examples are included to illustrate the thoretical results obtained.

各向异性连续矩形板是常用的一种工程结构。例如在钢筋混凝土房屋建筑物中,楼板部份即是由交叉梁支持的连续矩形板构成的,在船舶构造中亦广泛应用着腰合的连续矩形板。在分析应力时,常应用迦遼金由各向同性连续矩形板所导出的理论,但其结果与实际情况很有出入,因为当在板的不同方向具有不同弹性性质时应力的分布即受到影响,本文提供一种考虑材料各向异性性质的计算方法。其所得结果较用古典的迦遼金理论当更接近实际情况 本文包括下列诸部分: (1)在垂直于板面的荷载作用下正交各向异性连续矩形板的弯曲; (2)在板平面内有张力及垂直于板面的载荷共同作用下的正交各向异性连续矩形板的弯曲; (3)在板平面内有压力及垂直于板的荷重共同作用下的正交各向异性连续矩形板的弯曲; (4)在弹性地基上的正交各向异性连续矩形板的弯曲; (5)正交各向异性连续矩形板的稳定; (6)正交各向异性连续矩形板的振动, 对于前四部份,本文作者得出了三弯矩方程式。文中并列举了数字例子。
