Splenocytes from immunized mice were fused with SP2/0 murine myeloma cells on Day 3 after the last injection. After the selections and 5 clonings, one hybridoma cell line designated BG6 was obtained. An indirect immunoperoxidase staining showed overall 31 of 31 cases of either primary brast cancer or metastatic lymph nodes containing tumor cells reacted positively with BG6 antibody. No or weak immunoperoxidase staining was observed in the specimens of a panel of tumors of non-breast origin, and benign breast hyperplasia, as well as normal tissues. The nature of the corresponding antigen of McAb BG6 is being identified.
