    A new method of frontal gas chromatography has been evolved to the special end of determining adsorption isotherms of pure gases and of mixtures, based on continuous measurement and comparison of the rates at which the gas is fed onto the adsorption column and of that, at which it emerges from it. When the adsorbable gas is displacing an inert gas with which the column has been previously charged, the volume outflown until breakthrough of the adsorbable gas is a direct measure of the dead volume of the...

    Commercial samples of the drug Yuan Hua obtained from 39 Chinese cities and towns have been examined and found that all these samples are the flowers of either Daphne genkwa Sieb.et Zucc.or Wikstroemia chamaedaphne Meisn.,both belong to the family Thymelaeacese. After careful examination and comparison of the descriptions and illustrations of Yuan Hua in ancient Chinese herbals,the author ascertained that the flower of Daphne genka is the Yuan Hun described in Wus Pen Tsao,Ming Yi Bie Lu and Shu Pen Tsdo,it...

The morphology,histology as well as the plant habit of the drug Yuan Hua and Huang Yuan Hun are examined and described in detail with twelve illustrations.

    In this paper the total annual and seasonal distribution of solar insolation for theperiod Dec.1957—Nov,1958 in China is presented and comparison is made with thoseof America and other places in the world.Comparing the observed insolatiou withthe calculated values by different emperical formula,it is suggested that differentemperical formula should be used for different climate regions.

    本文根据1957年12月—1958年11月的全国二十六个台站的日射观测记录分析,绘出中国四季及全年的总辐射分布图,并与美洲及全球作比较.最后讨论了各种经验公式在不同气候条件下的精确度,指出应当按不同的气候区域应用不同的经验公式.
