In this paper we consider the possible change of the configurations and positions of orbits. In three-body problem, the instantaneous motion of one body could be thought of a conic section around the other one. Then we give the method to determine the ranges of change of the semi-major axis, instantaneous eccentricity and longitude of ascending node of orbits.

本文继续文[1]、[2]、[3],从一般三体问题运动方程的古典积分出发,在由它们所限定的允许运动范围内考察任一天体轨道形状和位置所可能发生的变化。具体地说,就是把这一天体在任何时刻的运动看作是绕另一天体作瞬时园锥曲线运动(见[4]、[6]),而给出一套相应的方法去确定其瞬时轨道半长径、瞬时偏心率以及瞬时轨道升交点经度的可能变化范围。

It is different from the problem discussed by Murthy in which the major axis of the hole is taken to be parallel to the shell axis. The photoelastic experiment shows that the experimental results accord well with the theoretical calculations.
