In order to support the rapid expansion of electrolyzers with metal anodes,Yantai Chlor-Alkali Plant adopted titanium heat exchanger for the heat exchange between 90 ℃wet chlorine gas and 45~50 ℃ refined brine,which resulted in the decrease of the temperature of wet chlorine gas and the saving of 4 990 tons of steam per year.
After modifying process,the total contents of Ca 2+ and Mg 2+ in refined brine were reduced from 9.35 mg/L to 3.61 mg/L,safe and economical running of diaphragm cell with metal anodes was ensured.
