This paper deals with the effects of different density, lateral pressure, as well as uniform and non-uniform consolidation stress ratios of saturated sand on its shear modulus and damping ratio when the sand sample is tested with GZ-1 Resonant-Column Test Apparatus developed by Nanjing Automation Research Institute. The experimental results showed that with increasing sample density and lateral pressure, the shear modulus increased, and by average stress method, the non-uniform consolidation stress could be normalized to the modulus line of uniform stress.
