    During the period 1976-1978, pyrolytic carbon plates of different shapes were first implanted into the rectus muscle, myocardium and endocardium of mongrel dogs, Neither foreign body reaction nor thrombus formation occurred. Thereafter, the localmade tilting disc valves, similar to that of Bjork type, were tested in dogs. After long survival in the dogs had been achieved, the valves, manufactured by the Shanghai Institute of Medical Instruments, were applied clinically in 14 patients since December 1978....

Thereafter, the localmade tilting disc valves, similar to that of Bjork type, were tested in dogs. After long survival in the dogs had been achieved, the valves, manufactured by the Shanghai Institute of Medical Instruments, were applied clinically in 14 patients since December 1978. Among the 14 cases, 4 were male and 10 female, aged 18-53 years. All of them suffered from rheumatic heart disease, 75% were in heart function class Ⅲ and Ⅳ. Single MVR was done in 13 patients and double valve replacement (MVR and AVR) was carried out in 1. Of the 14 patients, 2 died shortly after operation, 1 from infective endocarditis, and the other from low cardiac output. All the survivors were discharged from our hospital in excellent condition. The follow-up results 7-14 months after operation showed all to be in heart function class Ⅰ and Ⅱ, except 1 lost from follow-up. In the post-operative period, anticoagulant was given routinely. No thromboembolic complication occurred. From the above-mentioned short-term results, the authors concluded that the local-made tilting disc valve prosthesis fulfills clinical? requirements, and therefore its production and clinical application are justified.

    An artificial tendon of high mechanical efficiency with silicone, silk and Dacron was designed and made for replacement of injured tendon. Since April 1978, the artificial tendon was used clinically in 28 cases, totalling 36 tendon replacements. Of these, 18 cases with 24 tendon replacements had been followed up for a period of more than 12 months. The implants were proved to be inert and they anastomosed with the ends of severed tendons firmly. New tissues were grown into the core of the prosthesis and...

    An artificial tendon of high mechanical efficiency with silicone, silk and Dacron was designed and made for replacement of injured tendon. Since April 1978, the artificial tendon was used clinically in 28 cases, totalling 36 tendon replacements. Of these, 18 cases with 24 tendon replacements had been followed up for a period of more than 12 months. The implants were proved to be inert and they anastomosed with the ends of severed tendons firmly. New tissues were grown into the core of the prosthesis and the whole prosthesis was then ensheathed by a semitransparent membrane. This membranous sheath insured the prosthesis to slide freely while functioning. Adhesions were much less than in ordinary tendon graft. This prosthesis could perform normal function and could be implanted in the body tissue permanently without any ill-effect. Among the 18 cases, there were 12 cases of multiple injuries, extensive adhesions, ischemic contractures or contractures of the joints. The tendon replacement failed in two cases (2 tendons) on account of infection. The other 16 cases (22 tendons)were followed up for 12~22 months (average 17 months), and all wounds healed up well. 12 cases (18 tendons) showed excellent or good functional restoration. The artificial tendons could be stored in stock after conventional sterilization in autoclave. This prosthesis is deemed valuable especially in the management of cases of multiple tendon defects or extensive adhesion.

    本文报道以硅橡胶、桑蚕丝和涤纶为材料制成人工肌腱,用以修复28个病例的36根肌腱。对其中术后1年以上的18例24根肌腱进行了随访,近期效果比较满意。人工肌腱能与受体肌腱牢固接合,不易发生粘连,可渐被一半透明膜所包裹而在膜下自如滑动,纤维组织能逐渐长入腱芯,是一种异物反应少而滑动机能好的永久性肌腱替代物。在多发肌腱缺损或粘连广泛的病例中尤为实用。

    The use of flexible stent was proved very effective in reduction of loading stresses and in increase of durability of the tissue prosthesis.In order to study suitability of such a stent.a serial studies have been carried out in our hospital since 1978.The frame was made of acetal copolymer.The three posts of the frame were in equal distance with 15mm in height.The flexible stent was reinforced by application of a thin and small stellite ring fitted onto the annulus and covered with knitted Dacron cloth.A silastic foam ring was enclosed within the sewing ring which permits elasticity.Serial tests of the flexible stent pertaining to its antifatigue.anticreep.tensile strength, elasticity, chemical property, biological property have been made.These tests demonstrated that both the physical and chemical properties of the stent were stable, when exerting a pressure of 130mmHg evenly on the valve, the posts deflected towards the center from 0.9 to 1.0mm.while the deflection of the steel wire stent and stainless steel stent being 0.2mm and 0.5mm respectively.Histoio-gical examination of acetal copolymer-implanted tissue showed only slight reaction.According to the above data, the clinical use of the flexible stent bioprosth-esjs was therefore considered suitable.From October 1980 to March 1981, 14 patients had undergone mitral valve replacement and 1 died of heart failure.The 13 survivals for 4-10 months after operation were followed up.The results revealed significant reduction of cardiac size in x-ray studies and which marked improvement of cardiac function.NO thromboembolism occured.

    本文介绍第二军医大学第一附属医院研制的弹性架猪异种瓣。支架由聚甲醛构成,采用三瓣叶等距设计,架高15mm;经物理,化学及生物学试验,证明性能稳定,富有弹性,抗蠕变,抗疲劳性能好。动物体内埋藏,对组织无不良反应。于1980年10月开始应用于临床,至1981年1月共14例,1例术后死亡与瓣膜无关,其余13例长期生存,心功能均有明显改善,近期效果满意。本文对弹性支架性能及设计问题进行了讨论。
