1.By immunizing healthy horses with the ordinary liquid antigen used in complement-fixation test for glanders by 7—11 doses at 2—3-day intervals, an immune serum with a titer of 1: 60-80 had been prepared. 2.During the process of immunization it was found that-the complement-fixation reaction zone of the serum of the immunized horses was the same as that of the serum of the naturally infected horses. 3.The behavior of the prepared serum toward liquid antigen, dry antigen and mallein was the same as that of the serum of the naturally infected horses. 4.The heat resistance of the prepared serum was also the same in comparison with that of the serum of the natural cases; i.e., that the complement-fixing liter was lowered considerably when put in 65℃ for 30 minutes, mostly lost by 30 minutes at 70℃, and completely destroyed under 75℃ with the same length of time.

Summary In order to find a simple and rapid method for evaluation of swine erysipelas serum, the hemagglutination-inhibition test was tried and the successful results may be briefly summarized as follows: (1) Among more than one hundred strains of Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae under test, a particular strain, E. 5601, was found to agglutinate chicken erythrocytes more clearly than others in the same way as described for influenza virus. (2) The agglutinating action of strain E. 5601 was specifically inhibited...

Summary In order to find a simple and rapid method for evaluation of swine erysipelas serum, the hemagglutination-inhibition test was tried and the successful results may be briefly summarized as follows: (1) Among more than one hundred strains of Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae under test, a particular strain, E. 5601, was found to agglutinate chicken erythrocytes more clearly than others in the same way as described for influenza virus. (2) The agglutinating action of strain E. 5601 was specifically inhibited by swine erysipelas immune sera, and was not influenced by normal serum, hog-cholera serum, nor by hemorrhagic septicemia (or pasteurellosis) sera. (3) Thirteen batches of swine erysipelas hyper-immune sera were detected for their potency, and, as a result, it was found that the hemagglutination-inhibition titers of different batches showed a series of gradient degrees in which potent sera always possessed an inhibition titer above 1: 384, impotent ones usually below 1:192 or less, and normal serum or sera other than swine erysipelas almost no titer. This fact was confirmed by a series of correlated biological tests with mice. (4) By using this method and trying to get ready all those necessary materials and equipments on hand, the potency of swine erysipelas hyper-immune sera can be evaluated within on hour.

一、通过猪丹毒杆菌有与鸡血球凝集的特性,笔者自100多个猪丹毒杆菌品系內找出了凝集作用良好的猪丹毒杆菌E、5601品系,并用来供制本試驗的抗原。二、本試驗用的抗猪丹毒免疫血清共有13个批号,并以健馬血清、抗出敗血清等四种血清作了对照試驗。試驗結果,各个抗丹毒免疫血清的凝集抑制价高低表現不一,有凝集抑制价甚低者,有高达1:384者。一般在有效期內的抗猪丹毒免疫血清,其凝集抑制价最高;失效或距失效期較久的血清則凝集抑制价逐漸减低。至健馬血清、抗禽畜出敗血清等非特异性血清均无凝集抑制現象。三、小白鼠作血清效力对照試驗說明:鸡血球凝集抑制价的高低与抗猪丹毒血清的免疫效力有直接的密切关系,經以13批抗猪丹毒血清几次重复試驗証明,无凝集抑制价的各类血清或者凝集抑制价低于1:192者的抗猪丹毒血清,对小白鼠的保护力亦差;若凝集抑制价能达1:384者,則血清效力佳良,并可符合国家頒布的效力标准要求合格适用。四、本报告內就猪丹毒免疫血清鸡血球凝集抑制試驗的操作方法以及在猪丹毒免疫血清生产上和血清效力鑑定上的实用价值,均經加以叙述与闡明。

Suitable concentration of the viral antigen,removal of non-specific agglutinins from the serum samples and incubation for 15 min.at 37℃ for absorbing the viral antigen onto tanned erythrocytes were considered to be important factors necessary for the satisfactory perform- ance of the PH reaction. The possibility of the application of the PH test on other animal viruses and virus dis- eases was suggested.

本文报导了试用同接血凝试验检查新城鸡瘟抗体的具体方法及其结果。如以“++++”号强凝集作为判定格点,则正常鸡血清的滴度不到20~×,而免疫鸡血清分别呈现40~×、80~×、320~×、640~×等滴度,而且大致与各该血清的血凝抑止价相平行。待检血清中非特异性血球凝集性物质的除去以及应用一定浓度的病毒抗原,是取得成功结果的重要条件。
