( 3 )The measurement and the computation of stress in rock mass: the direct strain measurement with the overcoring technique is used to determine the absolute stress in the rock. The improved technique involves measuring strains at three points arround the periphery of a borehole. ( 4 )Derelopment of new mining methods: the recovery of the safety pillar under river bed, using cemented and sand fill mining at Xikaungshan Mine and developing under cut and cemented fill mining method with high slices at Jinchuan Mine are presented in this section. ( 5 )The reinforcement of rock slope and investigation on slope stability: this part includes the use of long pre-stressed rock bolts (steel cables) for reinforcing rock slope to prevent rock blocks form falling, which are discrete form the main rock mass by joint. The analysis of slope deformation with finite elements method is also presented. The technological process and structural aspects of the tailings—cemented fill system of No.4 ore-body at Mount Tonlo Copper Mine are described briefly in this paper. The experimental conditions of hydraulic cyclone classification, pulp discharging from sand silo and production of the fill station are introduced briefly. The test results have shown that the technological process of this fill system is advanced and reliable in operation. The average strength of placed body can reach 39 Kg /Cm~2...

The experimental conditions of hydraulic cyclone classification, pulp discharging from sand silo and production of the fill station are introduced briefly. The test results have shown that the technological process of this fill system is advanced and reliable in operation. The average strength of placed body can reach 39 Kg /Cm~2 The remot control and automatic operation have been realized in the fill station.The accumulated data can be given by automatic control system to show the tonnage of fill cement and fill volume in a specified time.
