In addition, 10 normal adults and 11 children served as control. Among the 31 patients, 16 (51.6%) revealed a four-fold or greater increase in serum titre while in the control group, only 19% had titres≥1:80. This difference was statistically significant (p<0.05). In the follow-up, some eases were later diagnosed as rheumatic heart disease or nephritis and were thus excluded from this study, leaving a total of 16 patients or 61.5% of Coxsackie B virus related cases. Among them, 6 were typed as Coxsackie B_2, 4 as B_4, and 2 as B_3. It is of interest to mention that only 1 patient exhibited increase in antibody titre against Coxsackie B_5, a prototypic strain maintained in this laboratory. The remaining 3 showed significant increase in serum titres against a strain, Coxsackie B_5 781, which was newly isolated by us during autopsy from the myocardium of a sudden death case. Hence, by isolation of new local virus strains as antigen and study the paired sera for assaying increase in antibody titres, it is possible that higher incidence of viral myocarditis cases? will be detected.

Tupaia was an intermedia between rodent and primate and grew in southwest China. They were infected experimentally with human hepatitis A virus since 1980. Healthy adult tupaias were fed orally with fecal suspension of hepatitis A patients and feces gathered every day to make suspension for extracting HAAg, using SPRIA and IAHA for screening HAAg and anti-HAAg respectivly. Healthy adult tupaias were fed orally with fecal suspension of hepatitis A patients and feces gathered every day to make suspension for extracting HAAg, using SPRIA and IAHA for screening HAAg and anti-HAAg respectivly. Results showedthat HAAg could be detected in feces of animals by SPRIA with titers of 1 : 20 to 1:320 3-13 days after infection. Serum antibody against hepatitis A virus was detected 2-6 weeks after infection by IAHA with titers of 1 : 40-1 : 640 and the conversion rate was 78%. A 4-fold rise of antibody was detected by SPRIA in sera of 5 hepatitis A patients, against antigens prepared from feces of infected tu-paia. Most animals were asymptomatic, A few exhibited transient SGPT increase and anorexia. 27 nm virus-like particles were detected with immune electron microscopy of fecal extract of HAAg positive animag mixed with Standard human anti-HAAg serum.

国产树鼩口服5%甲肝病毒阳性病人新鲜大便滤波0.5ml,感染后 3~13天的动物粪便中可测出甲肝抗原,排毒持续 15~21天;用此抗原滴定5例甲肝病人双份血清有4倍以上的抗体升高,前者并能被甲肝病人恢复期血清中和;部分树鼩感染后15~45天出现转氨酶升高,食欲减退;感染2~16周的树鼩血清中可测出甲肝病毒抗体,滴度1:40~1:640,抗体阳转率78%,从感染树鼩粪便中分离的抗原为27nm的病毒颗粒,能被甲肝病毒抗体凝集;感染树鼩肝出现充血、水肿,颗粒和脂肪性变,枯否氏细胞增生。
