The thermal fatigue and high temperature oxidation resistance of SKH51 steel and 65Mn steel were studied by circularly heating and cooling the samples in the aluminum die-casting die working temperature range(20～700 ℃).

By using Model AGA 782 Thermographic Monitoring System made in Sweden, the temperature distribution and its variations on the surface of die-casting die, especially on the cavity surface of the ejector and cover die half after their opening were measured.
Various methodes of heat treatment of the die casting dies are described. Through a lot of testings especialy moulding and quenching, a feasible method of heat treatment is discovered according to theoretical investingations. The service life of the die may be increased doubly, if the factor between hardness and tenacity is corresponded with the test condition.
