By means of three rock mass quality classification methods, i. e. Binniyaveski geomechanical classification method, Baton Q-system classification method and the egnineering rock mass classification method issued by the Ministry of Water Conservancy and Electric Power of China, on the basis...

Through discussion of existing rock mass quality classification methods, the comprehensive classification method is deemed to be used for quality classification of dam foundation rock mass of large scale hydropower project. By means of three rock mass quality classification methods, i. e. Binniyaveski geomechanical classification method, Baton Q-system classification method and the egnineering rock mass classification method issued by the Ministry of Water Conservancy and Electric Power of China, on the basis of measured data of its 18 borehole cores, the quality classifications of dam foundation rock masses at Xiluodu Project were made respectively, and then, comprehensively taking these classified results into account, the quality grades of the dam foundation rock masses were determined. The comprehensively classified result shows that the quality of dam foundation rock masses of this project is excellent, with moot rock masses belonging to grade Ⅰ and Ⅱ, and favourable for constructing a high dam. Such a classified result is quite in agreement with that from geologic research.

通过对已有岩体质量的评述,提出了对大型水电工程坝基岩体分级的综合分级方法。据对溪落渡水电工程18个钻孔岩芯的观测,首先分别应用比尼威斯基的地质力学分类、巴顿的Q系统分类和水电部的工程岩体分类方法对坝基岩体质量进行分类,再根据以上3种方法所得分级结果综合确定坝基岩体质量。分级结果表明,该工程的坝基岩体质量优良,以Ⅰ、Ⅱ类岩体为主,对工程建设有利。分级结果与坝区地质研究结果的对应性好。
