The author believes that the prevailing argument that "all of the painted colors of Changsha ware are underglaze colors" is not correct. Actually, in Changsha kiln, besides underglaze painting(only for making fine paintings), some other decoration techniques were also used, including stippling process and color glaze technique.2. The characteristics of Changsha bodies: Presence of large grains of quartz and iron minerals in the body, indicating low-grade body materials were used and the body materials were not finely prepared.3. The characteristics of the glazes and painted colors: a. Very low Al_2O_3 content (8.1—12.3%), indicating less clay was used in the glaza as compared with the glazes of other historical kilns. b. High in P_2O_5 content (1.1—3.0%). c. The MnO content of brown painted colors may be as high as 3.8%. d. The green colored glazes and painted colors are usually opaque in appearance, this phenomena can be attributed to the presence of P_2O_5 and a small amount of SnO_2 (0.4—0.9%) and As_2O_3 (0.02%) in the glaze and painted colors.4. The origin of copper red technique could be attributed to the Changsha potters.

Effect of different kinds of painting materials on the reinsulation of grain boundary in boundary layer capacitors has been examined.Mechanisms and characteristics of the grain boundary reinsulation were also studied and discussed. Effect of different kinds of painting materials on the reinsulation of grain boundary in boundary layer capacitors has been examined.Mechanisms and characteristics of the grain boundary reinsulation were also studied and discussed. It is considered that in the process of reinsulation of grain boundary, different painting materials will play different roles and have great influence on the properties of the capacitors.The experimental results show that the painting process is favourable to the increase of voltage resistance of capacitors.The temperature characteristics of the ceramic materials can be improved by painting with material of PbO-Bi_2O_3-B_2O_3.In the case of using CuO as painting material, higher dispersion frequency of the ceramic materials can be obtained. Painting materials of PbO-Bi_2O_3-B_2O_3-CuO combine the advantages of PbO-Bi_2O_3-B_2O_3 and CuO, so the good comprehensive properties will be achieved for the ceramic materials
