In accordance with the equivalent enthalpy drop principle, we have established formulas to be used in analyzing the home made thermal power cycles of 50mw and 600mw turbo-sets, and have calculated with digital computers the optimum distribution of heater enthalpy rises of the cycle. The method of analysis used in this paper may contribute toward rationalizing the design of thermal cycles by integrating theory more closely with practice.

The article describes some experimental investigations of improving 200 MW steam turbine reliability in Dong Fang steam turbine works, such as HP cylinder, blading, valve stem, bearing and oil system (oil reservoir, oil level indicator, rotor jacking pump etc.), control system and protection devices, and turbine associated auxiliaries.
