In this paper, the stress and displacement fields of the cervical spine have been deter mined by use of method of photo-mechanics. The results are analyzed aud discussed accordihg to the theory of bimechauics. The experimental results are in good agreement nith that from theoretical analysis and medical statistics aud provide the basis of mechanics for researching the cervcal spine diseases.

It demonstrated that the red blood cells were capable of great deformation and could smoothly pass through, in vivo, the capillaries with diameters much smaller than cell diameter.Rheologieal characteristics of single red blood cell in the capillary blood vessel in vivo is an important prereguisite to the study of mechanical properteies of cells, microcirculation mechanics, hemorheology and has significance in medical application.

Porous plastic material of methyl methacrylate and styrene copolymer, used as artificial cranium was made by disolving out the pore forming agents from the copolymer mixture. The effect of pore forming agents to copolymer ratio, the size and its distribition of the pore agents, the amount of monomer and initiater on pore forming rate and mechanical properties of the material have been studied with optimum seeking method. The effect of pore forming agents to copolymer ratio, the size and its distribition of the pore agents, the amount of monomer and initiater on pore forming rate and mechanical properties of the material have been studied with optimum seeking method. Animal tests show that the fibrocytes and granulation tissue could grow into the micropores of the composition and connected with each other. Simultaneously, the blood vessels were also formed in the new artificial cranium. Therefore, this composite is compatible with the living tissue 85 cases of cranium defect have been repaired with the porous plastie material in the No.1 Teaching Hospital of West China University of Medical Sciences and won satisfactory clinical results.

作者研究成功一种用作颅骨缺损修补的多孔型高分子材料。这种材料是以甲基丙烯酸甲酯—苯乙烯共聚物及甲基丙烯酸甲酯作基材,以水溶性固体粒状物作致孔剂,经混合固化后再将致孔剂溶出而制成的。本文考察了这种材料的成孔速率,孔隙度,孔径大小及分布,残余单体含量,以及抗压,抗弯和耐冲击性等主要指标。动物试验结果表明:结缔组织和肉芽组织可以长入微孔,相互连接,并有新生血管,组织相容性好,目前已在华西医科大学附一院临床应用85例,使用情况良好。
