The temperature field and the flow characteristics of gas in permeable brick have been investigated through laboratory experiments,practical production tests and model computation. The phenomena of heat resistance of gas flow in permeable brick have been analysed) the laws of the temperature field and the flow characteristics of gas in permeable brick varing with relative factors have been determined, the monitoring techniques for corrosion value and patching effect of permeable brick have been established, and the reasonable design method of permeable brick has been proposed.The results have shown that the corrosion value of permeable bribk can be monitored continuously at a precision of + 10 mm and ±20 mm respectively, according to the thermocouples embeded in permeable brick whether it being burned away or not and the monitoring model for corrosion value of permeable brick. It has also been shown that the corrosion of sintered patching lining can be monitored on the basis of the temperature variation measured by The "thermocouple which is the nearest to hot face with the increasing numbers of heats after patching.
