Results show that there exists a deep instable layer below 500hPa during the whole MCC lifespan with the instability decreasing generally and that the moisture and heat flow into MCC from its southwest and south side with the maximum flux being at 900~500hPa.
Weak potential instability in 700~500hPa,small quantity of vapor transfer and low cloud top temperature are the main reasons for small precipitation in this precipitation process.
A case of strong convection in 2003 occurred prior to sudden change of instability with major area of precipitation in a center of negative value of △θse(500-850), or in an area of large gradient but small △θse(500-850) value.
1. Starting from a two-layer nonlinear quasi-geostrophic baroclinic vorticity equation containing Ekman friction, a new generalized energy is proposed to act as Lyapunov function and thus a new criterion of nonlinear baroclinic subcritical instability containing two inequalities is obtained.
7. By one dimension photochemistry model, We simulate basically diurnal change of O_3, NO, NO_2, CO and SO_2 on September. 9 of 2001 in stability weather and explain the control factors for diurnal change of O_3、 NO、 NO_2、 CO and SO_2. The preliminary analysis shows the O_3 concentration is sensitive to NMHC.
This is a brief report of a preliminary survey of certain rain-bearing systems over China in later spring and summer. In the first part, a general description of the methods of analysis used in this survey is given. As the temperature and wind fields are weak, and the precipitation is heavy, smaller intervals for the isotherms and contours in the constant pressure surface and pseudo-equivalent potential instead of potential temperature in the cross section analysis are used.In the second part, there are des...
In this paper, the necessary instability criteria of the large scale atmos-pheric disturbances in a baroclinic zonal current with horizontal shear is discus-sed.Moreover,the effects of the unstable disturbances and stable disturbanceson the general circulation of atmosphere are also discussed.
With linear two-layer model the development and movement of long waves in the upper and lower part of the troposphere are studied. The main results are:1. The usually used synoptic rules——the disturbance develops when the pressure wave preceeds the temperature wave——is valid only in upper troposphere for ultra-long waves (with wave length of about 10~4 km or larger), valid from middle troposphere upward for long waves of wave length of about 7000 km and valid for whole troposphere for long waves of comparat...
