    The electroencephalogram of the toad was found to be composed of a 2—6/sec slow rhythm and low voltage (10—20 μV), 12—18/sec fast waves. Irradiation of the brain with ultrasound (250 watts, 24 Kc) for three minutes could abolish or greatly depress the fast component of the electroencephalogram and leave the slow component essentially unaffected. The fast waves, however, would recover if the period of irradiation did not exceed three minutes. Prolonged exposure of the brain to ultrasound resulted...

    The electroencephalogram of the toad was found to be composed of a 2—6/sec slow rhythm and low voltage (10—20 μV), 12—18/sec fast waves. Irradiation of the brain with ultrasound (250 watts, 24 Kc) for three minutes could abolish or greatly depress the fast component of the electroencephalogram and leave the slow component essentially unaffected. The fast waves, however, would recover if the period of irradiation did not exceed three minutes. Prolonged exposure of the brain to ultrasound resulted in irreversible EEG changes. The depression of the fast component of EEG under the present conditions could not be attributed to the heat effect of the ultrasound, since the deliberate elevation of the brain temperature by some other means to a degree comparable to that produced by the ultrasound (about 1—2℃) failed to reproduce the EEG changes. Nor could it be interpreted as due to the vascular changes of the brain resulting from the ultrasonic irradiation, since direct observation of the brain surface with a dissecting microscope could not reveal any detectable change in caliber of the blood vessels during irradiation. It was thus concluded that the deleterious mechanical effect of the ultrasonic vibrations on the brain tissue was probably responsible for the observed EEG changes.

    (一)蟾蜍的脑电图有快慢两种波型,快波的頻率为每秒12—18次,振幅为10—20微伏,慢波的頻率为每秒3—6次,振幅在30微伏以上,通常以快波为主。 (二)用輸出功率250瓦、頻率24千赫茲的超声波透射3分钟,可使蟾蜍脑电图受到阻抑,表現为快波減弱或完全消失,仅殘存不規則的慢波,但在超声停止作用后45分钟之內即行恢复。延长超声波透射的时間,則可使脑电图出現不可逆的变化。 (三)上述剂量的超声波,仅使蟾蜍脑温增高1—2℃,脑表层血管的血流状态和口径无任何可見的变化。 (四)用外部加温法使蟾蜍脑温自24℃增至35℃时,脑电图无显著变动。 (五)超声波对脑电图的阻抑性影响,不能以其热作用加以解释,可能是其机械作用所致。

In view of the recent advances in the determination of molecular weight distribution (MWD) by the method of sedimentation velocity in a θ-solvent, the present authors attempted to attack this problem by MWD studies during the course of degradation...

In view of the recent advances in the determination of molecular weight distribution (MWD) by the method of sedimentation velocity in a θ-solvent, the present authors attempted to attack this problem by MWD studies during the course of degradation process. A benzene solution of polymethylmethacrylate fraction of M_n=9.4×10~5 was used. Six samples were irradiated in ultrasound of 1 megacycles/sec for various durations. The MWD curves of these samples were determined in acetone-ethanol mixed solvent at θ-temperature. Number average molecular weights were calculated from the MWD data.

    用超离心机沉降速度法,在θ-溶剂中测定经不同超声裂解时间的聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯裂解产物的分子量分布,从此计算出数均及重均分子量等数据,对裂解过程中分子量分布的改变与裂解动力学规律进行探讨。 1.考虑试样多分散性及裂解过程中的分子量分布对裂解速率权重因子的影响,并用数论方法逐阶段计算超声裂解产物的分子量分布曲线,与各种裂解机构的计算结果比较,以Ovenall的断键规律与实验有良好的符合。而Jellinek,Mostafa的断键规律以及Bueche的切断位置恰在高分子键中间的近似计算方法等均与实验数据偏差颇大。 2.Ovenall动力学方程在裂解后期,与实验结果偏差较大,需要修正。 3.高分子经超声裂解断鏈后的最小聚合度必须大于e,实验数据说明这e值不可能分布很宽。 4.计算一个单分散试样(聚合度为9×10~3)在裂解过程中的分子量分布的变化,其图形不同于Jellinek,Mostafa及Sata等推导的结果。

    In this work the results of measurement are given for the velocity of ultrasonic waves in suspended monodispersed particles-the spore of lycoperdon in some solvents. The measurement is carried out at different temperatures (from 10 to 60℃) and concentrations (from 12 to 70%) by an ultrasonic interferometer of constant frequency at 1 Mhz. On the basis of the data, the behaviour of variation of ultrasound velocity in suspended matters under different conditions is investigated in detail. It is shown that, for the given suspended matter, the sound velocity square obeys the formula of additivity. The compressibility of the particles under consideration for different temperatures is calculated according to the Herzfeld's simplified formula.
