Results Before technical reformation, tested in 18 weld working posts, the over-standard rate of weld fume concentration (total dust) in workplaces was 94.4% . The maximum value of short term exposure limit(STEL) was 36.0 mg/m3, exceeding the standard by 5.0 times.
After technical reformation, 40 weld working posts were tested and the average STEL and TWA of weld fume decreased from 15.7 mg/m3 and 13.6 mg/m3 to 3.6 mg/m3 and 2.6 mg/m3 respectively, the exceeding rate of weld fume concentration (total dust) in the workplaces dropping from 94.4% to 15.0%.
Tests on the relation of dusting efficiency vs.air velocity in accelerated tube and dust density were conducted with phosphate rock recovering experimental aparatus designed by the authors.
