The present report is the second part of a series work on the application of gibberellin on rice-plant.The effects of this growth substance applied at vegetative period were summarized as follows: The emergence and growth of tillers are important characters of rice-plants at vegetative period.In order to improve the features of tillers such as the earliness of tillering,the qualities of the tillers,the percentage of mature panicles among total tillers and the maturity and economic yields,the authors applied this growth subs- tance at vegetative period by foliar spray.The results show that gibberellin acts on the rice-plant in two-fold manner,it promotes the emergence of the main stems and the tillers to form bigger panicles soon after transplanting and inhibites the emer- gence and growth of the small latter tillers,then the number of tillers per area con- trolled and a higher yield may be obtained if this chemical is applied at the right time. The factors which influence the yields were:the control of the emergence of latter tillers,the decrease of ineffective tillers,the increase the output of the small tillers,concentrateion of the assimilates into the main stems and early formed tillers, and consequently bigger and more fertile panicles were formed.At the same time, such treatment may hasten the heading of young panicles and accelerates the processes in the filling of grains and early maturity. In order to obtain a higher yield and early ripe,as a rule,there are factors one must bear in mind:First,the time of application,it is suitable take to give the treatment at the end of effective-tiller stage,which is near the maximum tillering stage,about 20 to 25 days after transplanting.This above mentioned stage is earlier in spring varieties than autumn ones,and earlier in early duration varieties than late duration ones.Second,the concentration of gibberellin,10 ppm are quite proper for spring varieties and 20 ppm for autumn ones.The Japonica varieties may need a higher ppm than the Indica varieties.Finally,the number of fondamental seedlings per area must be more than the ordinary paddy fields in order to compensate the possible shortage of panicles by this treatment.

水稻营养生长期喷施赤霉素可提早成熟,但增产效果不稳定。为获得早熟增产的效果,须喷施适时、浓度适宜、增加基本苗。水稻营养生长期喷施赤霉素有抑制分蘖出生,促进主茎和早出生分蘖生长的效应。正确运用这一效应,可以控制最高苗数和过剩分蘖,提高稻株的生理活性,增进优势蘖成穗,促进主茎和早出生分蘖的发育,获得穗大粒多、早熟增产的效果。

At present,the rice breeding by hybridization,concerning either the choice of parental materials for crossing or the selection of plants in segregating generations,is lack of theoretical guidance.This article is the first part of the studies which dealt with the genetic regulation of the main economical characters in the rice type Oryza sativa subsp.Shien.From fourteen parental varieties,the coefficient of variation,heritability and correlation coefficient of the important characters were estimated and investigated.According to the estimation,C.V.of the same character in different varieties tended to be unanimous.The order of average C.V.of different characters appeared as following: (ascending) days of spiking length of plant weight per 1,000 grains length of spike total grains per spike total tillerings per spike effective tillerings per plant output of individual plant empty husks per spike.Heritability of different characters tended to be in inverse to C.V.of the characters.The order appeared as following: (descending) length of plant days of spiking weight per 1,000 grains length of spike total grains per spike empty husks per spike total tillerings per plant effective tillerings per plant output of individual plant.It was also found that there were 11 pairs of characters appeared evident or most evident in their expressions of correlation,and only in total tillerings and effective tillerings appeared evident correlative with the output of individual plant.

本文通过对供试亲本的14个籼稻品种主要经济性状的变异系数、遗传力和相关系数的分析表明:株高、抽穗日数、穗长、千粒重等4个性状表现了较小的变异系数和较高的遗传力。每穗粒数的变异系数和遗传力处于中间状态。单株产量、有效穗总分蘖数的变异系数较大,而遗传力低。秕粒数的变异系数大而遗传力中等。9个性状之间的相关系数测定结果,表现极显著相关的有6对性状,显著相关的有5对性状。

As a result of experiments on related factor number of seeds sown-in nursery and number of seedlings transplanted in each hill,this papershows that under condition of higher levels of fertilizer and water mana-gement,thinner sowing and planting with fewer seedlings brings an evid-ent increase of output as compared with the thicker sowing and plantingwith more seedlings。The function of thinner sowing and planting withfewer seedlings lies in that it helps enlarge of the ears while plantingwith fewer seedlings...

As a result of experiments on related factor number of seeds sown-in nursery and number of seedlings transplanted in each hill,this papershows that under condition of higher levels of fertilizer and water mana-gement,thinner sowing and planting with fewer seedlings brings an evid-ent increase of output as compared with the thicker sowing and plantingwith more seedlings。The function of thinner sowing and planting withfewer seedlings lies in that it helps enlarge of the ears while plantingwith fewer seedlings tends to be the leading factor in the formation ofbigger ears。Bearing on certain physiological and ecological characteris-tics of community,the paper tries to expend as follows on the mechanismof high yielding from thinner sowing and planting with fewer seedlings:Seedlings of good quality and vigorous growth of individuals in the fieldare the biological bases for bigger ears and higher yield in thinner sowingand planting with fewer seedlings;reasonable distribution of layers ofleaves and stems and the forming of thicker leaf-blades are the ecolo-gical bases for higer photosynthetic productivity in thinner sowingand planting with fewer seedlings.And higher rate of material produc-tion and higher efficiency of transportation in the later growing stageare the physiological bases for bigger ears and higher yield in thinnersowing and planting with fewer seedlings.It can thus be assumed thatthinner sowing and planting with fewer seedlings is not only a measure ofprolifering seeds and economizing sown number in the field but also aneffictive measure for increasinly higher yielding in combination with ade-quate fertilizer and water management.

本文是根据秧田播种量和每丛插秧本数联因试验的结果,证明在肥水管理水平较高的条件下,稀播少本插比密播多本插具有明显的增产作用。指出稀播少本插在水稻高产形成中的作用点在于增大穗形,而少本插又是形成大穗的主导因素。从群体的某些生理生态着手,阐明了稀播少本插的高产机理:秧苗素质优良和本田个体生育健壮是稀播少本插大穗高产的生物学基础;合理的茎叶配置和较厚的叶片,是稀播少本插净光合生产率较高的生态基础;生育后期的物质生产速度快,运转效率高,是稀播少本插大穗高产的生理基础。从而认为,稀播少本插不仅是一项繁殖种子和节省本田用种量的措施;而且与相应的肥水管理技术结合起来,更是一项高产的有效措施。
