It is introduced the advantages of toughened glass insulator compare with the traditional porcelain insulator, and optimized the properties from the design point of view on considering its’ functions among the electricity transmission line.
This article points out the main problems of porcelain insulator ,briefly presents the structure and char-acteristic of silicone-rubber insulator ,analyses the feasibility of applying silicone-rubber insulator on type8G and SS 1 locomotive in theory and presents reconstructed project ,basing on the working principle of type8G and SS 1 locomo-tive's main breaker and high-voltage mutual-inductor.
The composite insulator has the advantages compared with traditional porcelain insulator, such as the light quality, high strength, strong anti-pollution flashover ability, suppressed zero value, simple workmanship, and convenient operation maintenance.
The above algorithm is expanded in solving bimodular axisymmetric problems, and applied to a mechanical and thermal analysis for a suspended insulator made in Dalian Porcelain Insulator Works with model XZP1-400.
