Feeding trial diet increased the amount of rumen MP synthesis and NH_3·N passing through the abomasum daily. NAN and BPN reaching the abomasum daily Was higher with control diet, but no significant difference of efficiency of rumen MP synthesis was observed between the two diets.Rumen pH, NH_3·N, TCA-P were 6.52, 22.76mg/100ml, 21.26mg/ml respectively in control diet, compared with 6.50, 22.30, 22.85 in trial diet (P>0.05). Rumen TVFA of sheep fed on diet containing IBDU decreased, with more propionic and butyric and less aeetic. C_2/C_3 decreased from 2.07 for control diet to 1.75 for trial diet.In vitro ammonia release of IBDU was markedly slower than that of urea and similar to that of the-soybean meal.The results obtained from experiments suggest that IBDU have a very slow ammonia release property and can rePlace 28.11% CP of Hu sheep diet.
