The vibration of linear damped systems with multiple degrees of freedom is discussed in this paper.The response is expanded in terms of the system eigenveetors by Laplace transform and partial fraction expansion. The effect of restricting the degrees of freedom on the eigenvalues is disscussed. A complex amplification factor is defined in the case of resonance.
