Harbermas has shifted the focus of the Western Classical Philosophy from subjectivity to intersuhjectivity, in an effort to maintain the subjectivity of man and the universality of reason. The purpose of Harhermas's discussion ethics is to establish a philosophical approach to social intercourse and the mutual understandings of men, in stead of the traditional emphasis on knowing and conquering nature. Kant's ethical principles were set up by means of monologue, whereas Harbermas upholds that ethical principles...

Harbermas has shifted the focus of the Western Classical Philosophy from subjectivity to intersuhjectivity, in an effort to maintain the subjectivity of man and the universality of reason. The purpose of Harhermas's discussion ethics is to establish a philosophical approach to social intercourse and the mutual understandings of men, in stead of the traditional emphasis on knowing and conquering nature. Kant's ethical principles were set up by means of monologue, whereas Harbermas upholds that ethical principles should take the form of dialogue. The ethical principles of the Confucian school is based on the "Way of Heaven," which is a product of monologue by Heaven or saints. Growing out of the monologue of a feudal sovereign, the "Way of Heaven" does not have room for dialogue or discussion. The "remonstrance" to the king and the latter's acceptance are an unequal dialogue between a sovereign and his subjects. The final judge of this dialogue is not reason but the sovereign. Confucius's "benevolence" is neither subjectivity nor intersubjectivity. The Moist concept of "universal love," on the other hand, contains the sparks of both. It still remains a question whether the new orientation of Chinese philosophy and ethics should take the form of dialogue or that of monologue.

Abstract The fatal fault in hegel's theories is that the theoretical pattern of the world history-the purely thinking mode, is regarded as equal to the existence.Hegel's dialectics fails to go beyond the limitetion of metaphysics but rather becomes the very representat ion of this classical theory. In consequence, many of his deep and excellent ideas on arts are buried in the metaphysical errors of the entire theory.

This paper gives a reinterpretation of Zhu Guangqian's (as well as Zong Baihua's)aesthetics in terms of the concept of imagery. Zhu Gangqian and Zong Baihua's aesthetic thinking reflects, on the one hand, the transition of Western aesthetics from the classic to the modern, and on the other, the historical tendency in modern China to seek for a merge of Chinese and Western aesthetics. Both sides are reflected in their emphasis on and study of imagery. “Imagery” is both a key concept of classical Chinese aesthetics, and a connecting point between classical Chinese aesthetics and modern Western aesthetics. Zhu Guangqian's aesthetic theory can be summed up as “beauty lies in imagery”. Contemporary Chinese aesthetics should “continue from”Zhu Guangqian.

本文以“意象”这个概念重新解读朱光潜(以及宗白华)的美学。本文认为,朱光潜、宗白华的美学思想一方面反映了西方美学从古典走向现代的趋势,另一方面反映了中国近代以来寻求中西美学融合的历史趋势。这两个方面都集中表现为二位先生对于“意象”的重视和研究。“意象”是中国古典美学的核心概念,也是中国古典美学和西方现代美学的契合点。朱光潜的美学理论可以概括为“美在意象”的理论。中国当代美学本应从朱光潜“接着讲”,但是没有这么做。50年代开展了对朱光潜美学的批判。朱光潜美学被不加分析地整个儿撇在一边。朱光潜的批判者(例如李泽厚)并没有真正克服朱光潜的美学,从而也没有超越朱光潜的美学。这就要求我们回到朱光潜(以及宗白华等人)的美学,从朱光潜“接着讲”。“接着讲”不是“照着讲”。“接着讲”是突破,是扬弃,是创造,是发展
