Error correcting coding(ECC) is applied in the procedure of watermarking embedding and extraction according to the feature of the digital watermarking channel and constructs the function to get the uniform coding rate of ECC.
This paper combines the channel error correcting coding (convolutional code & Turbo code) with MC CDMA systems,thus sufficiently exploits the excellent performance of error correcting coding (especially Turbo code) under low SNR.
So to improve the robustness of watermarking , the paper applies all kinds of error correcting coding (such as hamming code ,BCH code ,RS code and the convolutional code) in watermarking, intending to lower the detection error rate by correcting some errors. However, it doesn't work well.
Third,the paper researches the watermarking technology based on image discrete cosine transform (DCT), and puts forward to an algorithm for adaptive blind watermarking techenology based on DCT and error correcting coding. Afterward , The influences of parameter a on invisibility and robustness are fully analysed in theory, and the theoretic inferior limit of peak signal-to-noise ratio between watermarked image and original cover image is estimated.

In this paper, a new technique for combining a kind of high-efficient modulation with high-efficient error-correcting coding is introduced, and a given modulation method combined with R=1/2convolutional code in real-time digital system of picture transmission is studied and practised. (7, 5) convolutional code and mapping rule—Galay mapping is selected according to coding-mapping rule, and finally, transmission results in radio channel are given.

We also analyse some problems in these applications, and point out several remained research problems
This paper proves that a good linear block error-correcting code implements a good linear local-random sequence generator. Therefore the close relation between error-correcting coding theory and modern cryptography is discovered once again.
