Butenolide (Fusarium toxin) was synthesized by modifying the methods reported by Gratz et al. (1970) and Grove et al. (1970). It was prepared by photochemical oxidation of furfural to 4-ethoxy-4-hydroxy-2-butenoic acid-γ-lactone. This pseudoester was hydrolyzed before reaction with acetamide to give the butenolide in yield of 27.2%.

根据Gratz及Grove等报道的方法删繁就简、避难就易地合成了丁烯酸内酯(镰刀菌毒素)。这种毒素是利用糠醛经过光化学氧化形成的4-乙氧基-4-羟基-2-丁烯酸-γ-内酯制备的。假酯水解后再与乙酰胺反应即得丁烯酸内酯。产率27.2%。

Toxic substances in the extractions of diseased wheat grains from a Fusa-rium head blight nursery and of cultures on rice and wheat media were qualitatively and quantitatively analysed through thin-layer chromatography, with 5 kinds of pure Fusarium toxins, i. e. DON, 3A-DON, DH CAL,BUT, and pure T-2 toxin as criteria. It was cleared up that Fusarium graminea-rum from Jiangsu could produce DON and 3A-DON and that DON was the main toxic substance.
