    The adrenocortical hormone activities of △~6-6-methyl cortisone acetate (△~6), synthesized by the Institute of Organic Chemisty of the Academia Sinica, are studied and compared with those of cortisone. When adrenalectomized rats, weighing 100—200grams were injected subcutaneously with a dose of 1 mg of △~6 once daily for 4 days, the developments of granuloma on subcutaneous implantation of cotton pellets and of egg-white-induced oedema of the hind paws were inhibited markedly.     The adrenocortical hormone activities of △~6-6-methyl cortisone acetate (△~6), synthesized by the Institute of Organic Chemisty of the Academia Sinica, are studied and compared with those of cortisone. When adrenalectomized rats, weighing 100—200grams were injected subcutaneously with a dose of 1 mg of △~6 once daily for 4 days, the developments of granuloma on subcutaneous implantation of cotton pellets and of egg-white-induced oedema of the hind paws were inhibited markedly. Involution of the thymus of these rats was also noted. The potency of △~6 in these respects was similar to that of cortisone. In adrenalectomized rats and mice, the liver glycogen deposition activity of △~6 was 4—5 times as potent as cortisone. When rats were pre-treated with △~6 at a dosage of 0.75 mg/rat, the emotional stress activated secretion of pituitary ACTH was markedly inhibited. With respect to water and electrolyte regulation, △~6 differs from cortisone and deoxycorticosterone in that, in stead of possessing water and sodium retaining actions, it induces diuresis in adrenalectomized rats. From these findings it would appear, therefore, that the adrenocortical hormone activities of △~6 resemble those of 6α-methyl prednisolone, triamcinolone, and dexamethasone.

    The present study is an attempt to further asertain the histological location and afferent connections of the "Groaning Center" of cat.In 1952, by electrical stimulation of the lateral tegmental area of cats, a restricted region was found to give rise to the groaning response and it was designated as the "Groaning Center", which on excitation would also produce various viseral and motor reactions.According to our microscopic study of the position of the "Groaning Center", we found that the nucleus subcuneiformis in the lateral tegmental region is the focal point of the center. It lies ventralateral to the nucleus trochlear, medial to the lateral lemniscus and the nucleus paralemniscalis (Jasper atlas, 1954), dorsal to the nucleus cuneiformis. This center extends about 1.0 mm. anteroposteriorly, 1.0 mm. mediolaterally and about 1.5 mm. dorsoventrally. This area cheifly consists of fibers and scattered cells of medium and small size. A cluster of larger cells has been observed in the ventral region of the center.By HRP retrograde transport study, we found that after injection of HRP into the center, the reactive cells were found in extensive brain areas. The labelled cells were mainly found in the ipsilateral side of the hypothalamus, especially in the lateral and posterior nucleus of hypothalamus as well as the dorsomedial nucleus of hypothalamus. The reactive cells were also found in the forebrain regions, such as the cingulate gyrus, globus pallidus, zona incerta, nucleus parafa-sicularis, etc.The relation between the center with vocalization and emotional responses is discussed.

This paper deals with whether any correlation exists between motor vehicle accident and biorhythmic stales of the driver wor not. 490 motor vehicle accidents being at fault with the driver were analysed. The author thinks that the important work for improving traffic safety should place on the driver's performances. In this paper some experimental study was examined. It was reported that when the driver's critical days were impending, the manager issued warnings to them according to their biorhythm charts or tables, then the motor vehicale accidents were reduced. In future it is necessary to research biorhythms with adequate "control group", and take into account the envirommental effects.

    汽车交通事故已成为世界上许多国家的社会问题之一。以往的研究表明,它主要是由驾驶员的错误行为引起的,本文指出,我们应当把改进汽车交通安全的工作重点放在研究驾驶员行为变化规律方面;人体生物节律理论提出人类行为受其本身的体力,情绪和智力能力周期性变化的影响的新观点;并讨论了驾驶员生物节律状态与汽车交通事故之间的关系。通过对490起驾驶员责任事故分析表明,人体生物节律是影响事故的一个重要因素。在实验基础上进一步研究驾驶员行为变化规律,帮助他们学会控制自己的行为,这样,将有助于减少汽车交通事故的发生。
