2-Aminc-4-methyl-6-methoxyl-1, 3, 5-triazine is one of the main intermediates for synthesis of sulfonyl urea herbicides. The synthetic method that this paper reports dealed with addition methanol to cyanoguanidine followed by cyclization, and simplified the method reported by literature.

A high performance liquid chromatographic method was developed for both analysis of their industrial products and residue determination, using a Lichrosorb Si-60 20×0.3cm I. D. column, with mobile phase of petroleum ether/isopropanol/methanol/ethyl nitrile and chloroform mixture solvent (70:10:10:5:5, v/v), 1ml/min. The eluant was detected by UV absorption at 254...

The retention time was 6~15 rain and detectable limit of concentration was 2~10 ppb. The recovery for residue determination of extracts from water, soil. rice stem and grain was 91.92~97.68%.
