There are five types and sixteen subtypes, most of them being lenticular and distributed in a short belt. Their sorting and stability are low and washing is Weak. The lithological and lithofacies variations are rapid. The rate of variation in thickness is usually more than 3%. The centers of sedimentation migrated frequently. There are five suits of source beds, the total thickness of which is more than 1600 m. The content of organic carbon is 0.5—1.9%. The physical properties of reservoir beds are quite good. Source reservoir and sealing beds are well coordinated. The beds often lie at a depth of more than 2000 m. The geothermal gradient is considerably high. Therefore, theoil generating conditions are good.The above-mentioned characteristics were controlled by the crustal contraction-subsidence-tension and the unbalance of crustal movement in this region during the late period of the Diwa development. According to the features of crustal movement, structural types and sedimentary formations, the following oil pools merit our attention: (1) oil pools cotrolled by NWtrending tensile faults, ring, radial structure and produced by removal of sedimentary center(advance and replace system)with pleostrata.(2) multibed oil pools produced by the migration(of advancing type and reciprocating type)of the centers of sedimentation; (3)oil pools controlled by ring and radial structures.
