A variational calculation for the neutron rich nucleus 11Li is made in the framework of the 9Li+n+n model. The RMS radius, bilding energy and the interparticle correlations are obtained. A direct verification supporting the neutron halo structure is found by inspcecting the one-body density and the shape-density.

Based on the three-body model proposed by Ren and Xu ̄[1],an improvement Ontheir variational wave function has been made.
