In a spatially isotropic and homogeneous space-time continuum it can be shown that up to about 2x10~8 l.y. the following relation holds between spectrum displacement δλ from distant spiral nebulae and their observa-tionally defined distance d,where A is Einstein's cosmological constant. The first term on the right hand side is essentially Hubble and Humason's velocity-distance relation. The second part is a correction which amounts to 11.5% for d2x10~8 l.y. and hence lies within observational error of the present Mt. Wilson 100-inch telescope. The theory shows that both Milne's recent Newtonian theory of the expanding universe and Lemaitre's interpretation of tha velocity-distance are first order approximations and are valid only within 2xl08 l,y. from our galaxy. The calculation for the phenomsna of nebular recession beyond 2xl08 l.y. to be observed by the 200-inch telescope now under construction according to the present scheme will be presented in the near future.

It is indicated that there are two basic types of dynamical processes which correspond to those of the sound and the gravitational waves.In general, the rapid sound wave does not correspond to the meteorologically significant phenomena and. the existance of that wave will distort the actual changes connected with the meteorologically significant motion. In the present paper, the properties of the solutions of the linearized equations of the small scale processes are analysed by the frequency method. It is indicated that there are two basic types of dynamical processes which correspond to those of the sound and the gravitational waves.In general, the rapid sound wave does not correspond to the meteorologically significant phenomena and. the existance of that wave will distort the actual changes connected with the meteorologically significant motion. Therefore, it is necessary to filter the sound wave from the equations of small scale motion.It is indicated that the static departure (static unequilibrium) is important for the development of small scale processes, such as the convection, so that it is not permitted to use the static approximation to filter the internal sound wave. In this paper, for filtering the sound wave three methods are introduced, namely, 1) application of imcom-pressiblibity; 2) the solution in power series of the small parameter s', the Froude number, and 3) application of the balance equation for the small scale process. The error introduced by each of these methods is also analysed.The process of the dispersion of the sound waves which is equivalent to the process of the adaptation of the quasi-hydrostatic field for small scale motion is investigated as a Cauchy's problem. vFinally, the non-linear equations of motion of small scale processes are given.

本文对层结大气中小尺度过程动力学的一些基本问题作了研究。 首先用频率法对线性化后的小尺度运动方程作了分析。分析指出,线性化后的运动方程中包含了两种不同类型的波动,即快速传播的声波和相对声波而言的慢波——重力内波。 对于有气象意义的运动而言,声波是一种“噪音”,必须从运动方程中把它滤掉。文中指出,由于静力偏差(非静力平衡)对小尺度运动的发展具有重要的意义,一般用静力平衡来消除声波的方法对小尺度运动并不适用。文中提出了三种不同的消除声波的方法,即1)不可压缩条件的应用;2)将解按参数ε’(=V~2/gL)的冪次展开; 3)平衡方程的应用。同时分析了这三种不同滤波方法所带来的误差程度。 作为初值问题,研究了当在某一时刻在大气有限区域内的扰动破坏了静力平衡后所激发出的声波的频散性质,指出,从静力平衡的破坏到其种平衡状态的建立,场的这一适应过程完成得极其迅速。 最后,利用所提出的滤波方法,建立了滤掉声波后的二维非线性运动方程组。

As the cloud structure is usually fluctuating, it is important to study the growth of the droplets under gravitational coalescence in such an environment. In this paper the growth rate of cloud droplet is calculated under the consideration of the fluctuation of the water content. The result obtained differs considerably from that obtained for the case without such fluctuation, and seems in better accord with the condition observed in the atmosphere. The result obtained differs considerably from that obtained for the case without such fluctuation, and seems in better accord with the condition observed in the atmosphere. The growth rate is now much greater and the precipitation elements may even develop quickly from a group of small droplets of small dispersion in a cloud in a state of not intensive fluctuation.

云雾中的气象要素和云雾物理量经常有着起伏,因此研究重力碰并在这种起伏条件下如何使云滴生长,从而形成滴谱,是很必要的。本文对云中小水滴浓度(或含水量)有起伏时的云雾滴生长进行了计算,得到了云滴的一种理论分布。由此可以看出,在起伏条件下,云滴生长是比较快的。在比较短的时间和比较薄的云中有可能形成相当大的云滴,即半径50μ乃至100μ以上的云滴。因此在均匀条件下,凝结生长和重力碰并增长中的所谓“生长障碍”区(云滴半径在20—30μ左右)也就不存在。
